As a professional singer and speech-language pathologist, I know how important it is to maintain vocal health and happiness.
However, one does not have to be a singer to empathize. If you use your voice in any capacity in order to pay your bills, you are considered a professional voice user! This might include work in sales, education, hospitality, office work, and law, among others. Vocal function in your daily life can be impacted by a multitude of factors (e.g. dehydration, excessive voice use, illness, muscle tension, fatigue), which can potentially lead to an organic voice disorder (nodules, polyps, or cysts). Development of such pathologies typically cause dysphonia and can have a significantly negative impact on your voice quality and potentially, your professional work as well.
The services I offer seek to educate fellow professional voice users on the function and health of the human voice and offer solutions to prevent voice “break-downs” requiring multiple doctor/therapy visits. My experience as a professional vocalist combined with my knowledge gained as a speech-language pathologist allow me to comprehensively address the vocal challenges and concerns most frequently experienced by voice users across a variety of settings.
